Day 5 - Ludlow to Daresbury Park, Warrington

The forecast for today didn't look promising, but pulling back the curtains this morning revealed some blue skies and light cloud.  We made it through to lunch with only a bit of light rain, but after the stop there was some heavier rain.  Glad I set off in the morning with my winter cycling boots on!

After some climbing for the first 15 miles or so to get out of Ludlow, the rest of the day was more undulating than sharp hills.  We stopped just outside of Shrewsbury for our morning rest stop, before heading on to Whitchurch for lunch.

A nice day of county lanes and lovely views with a couple of castles thrown in before we reached the urban environment of Warrington and it's suburbs.  5 years to the day since I was last in Warrington to watch Miles Kane, funnily enough.

Tomorrow promises to be the most mentally demanding day as we wind our way north.  Another 80 odd miles, and the weather doesn't look great.  Fingers crossed they're wrong 😂

We weather started off looking promising

Today's rest stop.  A real treat having homemade cakes!
